From 16 to 20 October 2022, the AMDI has organized a study tour for the Laos delegation to visit and work in Vietnam. This activity belongs to the 1.4 million US dollars Consulting service of AMDI to the Sustainable Rural Infrastructure and Watershed Management Sector Project (SRIWMS), funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

In the afternoon of 17 October, 2022, the study tour delegation visited and worked at the General Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam. At the meeting, the representative of the General Department of Water Resources of Vietnam - Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Director General, shared experiences and exchanged with the Lao delegation experiences related to management and operation of irrigation works.

From 18 to 19 October, 2022, the study tour delegation visited and worked at Yen Lap Irrigation Management One - Member State Owned Limited Company, Quang Ninh province. At the meeting, Mr. Vu Trong Tinh - Deputy Director of the Company - shared experiences related to the management and operation of irrigation works in Quang Ninh province. On the same day, the study tour delegation had the opportunity to visit irrigation works in Yen Lap lake.
The SRIWMS Project is a project using ODA loan fund from ADB under the management of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for 7 years. The project will be implemented in 5 provinces namely Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Xayaboury, Xieng Khouang and Houaphan, Lao PDR.
The consulting service contract signed by the Joint Venture of AMDI – COTETEC and Department of Irrigation, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Lao PDR will be implemented to support the Project Management Units in LuangPrabang and Xayaboury provinces to implement the Project activities within 72 months, starting from September 2021 to September 2027.
