AMDI is seeking one National Resident Engineer to work for the GMS4 project in Paksan Bolikhamxay and Thakhek, Khammouane Provinces

National Resident Engineer     

Background:

The Fourth Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project (GMS CTDP4) is funded by ADB, with counterpart contribution from the Government of Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). The project will support the government of Lao PDR in improving urban environmental services and enhancing regional economic connectivity in the towns of Paksan and Thakhek, which are located along the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Central Corridor.

The Project will finance the: (i) construction of sewerage networks and eight small-scale wastewater treatment plants (SWTP) to improve sanitation; (ii) construction of two controlled landfills and solid waste collection vehicles for municipal waste to improve waste collection and management; (iii) improvement of drainage and riverbank protection; (iv) rehabilitation of the old town center at Thakhek to promote regional tourism; and (v) preparation of city master plans to promote regional economic connectivity.

The Joint Venture of the Asian Management and Development Institute (AMDI) and Consultant and Inspection Joint Stock Company of Construction Technology (CONINCO) and Equipment and BMEC Engineering & Consulting Co., Ltd (BMEC) has performed the Consultant’s Services for the GMS4.

Terms of Reference:

The project will finance the construction subprojects in Paksan Town, Bolikhamxay Province and Thakhek Town, Khammouane Province

In the upcoming time, Contracts for Subprojects in both Paksan and Thakhek Towns are going to be awarded and come into the construction period. Therefore, in order to supervise the construction works of GMS4 Project, the Resident Engineer will be recruited.

The Resident Engineer will work at the construction sites in Paksan or Thakhek town with sometimes travel to Vientiane if any.

The Resident Engineer should have minimum Bachelor degree in civil, structural or municipal engineering or a related discipline. He should have at least 08 years of experience in construction supervision of urban infrastructure development projects (preferably landfill and wastewater management system) would be beneficial. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Only candidates that have been short-listed will be interviewed by the Team Leader and Lead Firm representatives.
