AMDI held on-the-job training on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for 23 staff of Project Central Unit (PCU) and two Project Implementation Unit (PIUs) of Paksan and Thakhek for its ADB-funded project, “The Fourth Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project (GMS-4),” within the framework of Project Implementation Consultant (PIC)’s service contract, at PCU office, Vientiane, Laos on 25-26 July 2018.
Giving opening remarks in the training, PCU director, Madam Malychanh SANANIKHOM emphased that “It is important to understand project indicators and how to monitor and evaluate these indicators to ensure project outputs in accordance with ADB’s requirements”.
Based on Project Design and Monitoring Framework (DMF), the Project Progress Monitoring System (PPMS) which was developed by the M&E specialists and introduced to PCU and PIUs staff for M&E purposes.
The PIC’s international and national M&E specialists led the two-day training, which aimed to provide PCU and PIU’s staff on the project M&E indicators and collection of M&E data. More importantly, the participants clearly understand their roles and responsibilities on M&E to ensure consistence and efficiency of the M&E activities among PCU, PIUs and related stakeholders in compliance with the requirements of ADB.
