Today, 14 April 2016, the Asian Management and Development Institute, a member of AMD Group and its partners - Culture Works Construction and Design Joint Stock Company, Cau Giay Construction and Consultant Joint Stock Company were invited to the contract negotiation for the bid package « Project Management, Civil Engineering and Capacity Building Support » under the « Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project ».
This Project is funded by the Asian Management and Development Institute and executed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Accordingly, once the contract is successfully negotiated, AMDI will become the lead contractor providing 8 international consultants and 13 national consultants with a total of 166 person-months, managing and coordinating the consultant team to implement the project. Total budget for the project is USD 55 million, of which USD 1.95 million is allocated for the consulting package. It is anticipated that the project will be implemented in 5 years from March 2015 until June 2020.
Main objective of the Project is, for the Greater Mekong Subregion, to promote overall economic growth along the economic corridor among countries in the region, especially Vietnam, Lao PDR and Cambodia through improving infrastructure, connectivity of tourist routes and destinations, and improving sanitation conditions in some tourist centers near the border among countries.
For Vietnam, the Project will contribute to develop infrastructure for tourism, protection of natural heritage and cultural heritage of Vietnam in order to support the tourism industry of 05 provinces including Dien Bien, Ha Tinh, Kien Giang, Lao Cai, and Tay Ninh in exploiting the strengths with specific tourist products to promote and attract international travelers, to help localities with sustainable socio-economic development, poverty reduction.
The Project includes 4 components: Component 1: Upgrade and renovate infrastructure and roads to the tourist areas, cultural exchange and tourist information centers. Component 2: Improve sanitation conditions in the tourist areas near the border. Component 3: Improve institutional capacity to promote and manage inclusive tourism growth (implemented in localities). Component 4: Effecient project implementation and management (mainly consultants recruitment, training, management capacity building and project monitoring executed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
In recent years, AMDI has consecutively been the successful bidder of USD million-worth projects from high-profile clients and partners like the European Union, Asian Development Bank, World Bank, United Nation Development Programme, etc. In addition, the scope of consulting activities has been continually extended beyond Vietnam territory, the currently running SPS project in Laos is an example.
