AMDI AWARDED THE CONTRACT ON DEVELOPMENT OF INCLUSIVE AND COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMIC PLAN FOR TAM THANH, TAM KY, QUANG NAM

The Asian Management and Development Institute (AMDI) signed a contract with UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Program) and UNDP (United Nations Development Program) to develop an inclusive and community-based economic plan for Tam Thanh Commune, Tam Ky District, Quang Nam Province.

The “Development of inclusive and community-based economic plan for Tam Thanh” project was a component of the project Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building for Sustainable Urban Development in Vietnam” (ISCB) implemented by UN-Habitat, financed by Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in the 2021-2025 period. The project consisted of 4 main components: Component 1 - Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building; Component 2 - Strengthening of national urban legislation; Component 3 - Support to the implementation of the Planning Law and Component 4 - Piloting. In Component 4, the project will support 03 cities to develop and implement practical, creative, innovative strategies and actions, linking capacity building issues with coordinating the implementation at the local level.

Accordingly, AMDI would coordinate with UN-Habitat and the stakeholders to develop an inclusive and community-based economic plan for Tam Thanh – Mural Village. The community-based economic plan for Tam Thanh Mural Village would support to the development of community-based tourism, infrastructure renovation and development of cultural space of Tam Thanh Mural Village.

According to the plan, the “Development of inclusive and community-based economic plan for Tam Thanh” project would be implemented from May 2024 to the end of December 2024.
