After becoming the official contract awardee to provide consulting services for the “Vocational teachers training for materials development” package (DT04A) under the project "Skill Enhancement Project", Asian Management and Development Institute (AMDI) and its joint venture partner have immediately started the mission within scope of the bidding package. During three months since signing the contract (from June to August 2017), AMDI's expert team has completely developed 11 sets of training materials on building skills and using learning documents for 11 occupations; and successfully organized 14 training courses for 264 teachers from vocational institutions both under the project and outside the project who share the same training sectors.
The outputs of the consulting package including sets of vocational program and training materials are highly appreciated by leading experts in the field of vocational education. These documents are acknowledged as significant supplementary material to the reference source for fostering the capacity of vocational trainers at the era of “information explosion” with excessive unofficial reference.
In addition, since January 1, 2017, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has been the State agency that is in charge of vocational education, thus more than 500 colleges and professional intermediate schools will be under a direct management of the MOLISA. Existing occupational training institutions will be in a fierce competition with these colleges and professional intermadiate scholls, primarily in terms of admissions. Therefore, sending teachers to participate in the training of trainers within this consulting package is particularly essential for these vocational training institutions, contributing to improve competitiveness capacity of themselves. As for senior lecturers who have many years of experience in vocational training, engagement in the course is an opportunity to revive and acquire new knowledge according to programs and regulations of the General Department of Vocational Training (GDVT) on building and developing learning materials. For junior lecturers who are under 30 and own less than 5 years of experience, seizing this good chance will help them to improve knowledge and share experience with other colleagues.
Obtaining the set objectives, the consulting package is highly appreciated by the GDVT and relevant stakeholders. This achievement again confirms AMDI's experience and reputation in fields of Training - Consulting.
