AMDI SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZED THE TRAINING OF TRAINERS COURSE FOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR DMO SENIOR MANAGEMENT – GREATER MEKONG SUBREGION TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE FOR INCLUSIVE GROWTH

During 3 days from 12th to 14th July 2017 in Hanoi, Asian Management and Development Institute (AMDI), in the role of Project Implementation Consultant successfully organized the Training of Trainers course for Leadership Training for DMO senior management, under the GMS Tourism Infrastructure for inclusive growth project.

The GMS Tourism Infrastructure for inclusive growth project financed through a loan from the Asian Development Bank and Government counterpart financing, is designed to address various tourism issues hampering inclusive growth. The expected impact of the project is that economic benefits of tourism increase and are more equitably distributed in Vietnam. The Outcome will be increased tourism receipts benefiting women and men living in underdeveloped segments of GMS Coastal Corridors and cross-border tourism areas in Vietnam, notably in the provinces of Lao Cai, Bien Bien, Ha Tinh, Tay Ninh ad Kien Giang.

The Project’s training program includes 01 ToT course for Leadership training for DMO senior management for PIUs conducted in July 2017 and 05 Leadership training courses for DMO senior management for the PIUs will be conducted in the period from August to December 2017 in the project provinces. The training course aims to support the PIU in Destination Management Organization (DMO) establishment and management; support the PCU to accelerate the destinations management organization establishment and capacity building, and develop contingence of trainers to deliver the Leadership training to DMOs senior management at the targeted province (for Training of Trainer course).

The Training Course for Trainers was held in Hanoi from July 12th to 14th include 25 trainees from 5 provinces of Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Ha Tinh, Tay Ninh, Kien Giang. At the end of the course, trainees receive the Certificate from the Central Project Management Board. The success of this training will be the basis for AMDI to continue successfully organizing 5 training courses in the provinces in the coming time in accordance with the progress and requirements of the project./.
